4 Amazing Days in Puerto Rico Itinerary
Puerto Rico is one of those magical places where history, nature, and nightlife collide—all with a tropical ocean breeze. We recently spent 4 unforgettable days on the island, staying at the Marriott Stellaris in Condado, and it was the perfect mix of culture, adventure, and relaxation.

If you’re planning a quick escape to Puerto Rico, here’s the exact itinerary we followed—packed with colorful colonial streets, rainforest waterfalls, beach cocktails, and memorable meals.
Where We Stayed: Marriott Stellaris, Condado
Located right on the beach in Condado, Marriott Stellaris was the perfect home base. The hotel has a large pool, oceanfront views, great service, and is centrally located between Old San Juan and the airport.
Pro Tip: Ask for an ocean-view room—you won’t regret waking up to those turquoise waves.

Day 1: Arrival + Explore Old San Juan
We landed mid-day, checked into the Marriott, and headed straight to Old San Juan for some sightseeing and late afternoon exploring.
Highlights:
- Walked the colorful cobblestone streets and took photos at Calle del Cristo and La Fortaleza.
- Visited Castillo San Felipe del Morro, the historic 16th-century Spanish fort.
- Grabbed iced lattes and pastries from Café Cuatro Sombras to fuel the stroll.
Dinner Recommendation: Head to Princesa Gastrobar for Puerto Rican dishes with a modern twist (and amazing cocktails in a romantic courtyard setting).

Day 2: Pool Day + Night Out at La Placita
After a long travel day, we decided to relax poolside at the Marriott Stellaris. The infinity-style pool and beach access made it easy to unwind. We grabbed poolside lunch and piña coladas without leaving our lounge chairs.
Later that night… it was time to experience the famous La Placita.
La Placita de Santurce turns into a street party after dark, with salsa music, bar hopping, and locals dancing in the streets.
Dinner: Grab a casual dinner at La Alcapurria Quemá before heading into the action.
Tip: Go around 10 p.m. for the full energy—dress comfortably and get ready to dance.
Day 3: Day Trip to El Yunque + Luquillo Beach

We booked a guided day tour to El Yunque National Forest, about 45 minutes from San Juan. The hike was moderate and led us to waterfalls, natural pools, and lush rainforest views.
After a refreshing dip in the falls, we headed to Luquillo Beach for food and chill time.
Luquillo Kiosks are a must! We grabbed fried red snapper, tostones, and passionfruit mojitos. The beach here is laid-back and great for relaxing after the hike.
Returned to the hotel in the evening, tired but happy!

Day 4: Brunch at Bistro Café + Beach Time + Dinner at Sofia’s
Before heading to the airport, we made time for a proper Puerto Rican brunch.
Bistro Café in Isla Verde is a local favorite—and for good reason. Their stacked pancakes, loaded avocado toast, and vibrant latte art are next-level. Go early; it gets packed!
We spent our last few hours enjoying one final walk along Condado Beach, taking in the sun and sea breeze.
Final Dinner: We ended our trip with an elegant dinner at Sofia’s Italian Steakhouse in Condado. The truffle pasta and wine list were the perfect send-off.
Final Thoughts: Is 4 Days Enough in Puerto Rico?
Honestly, it left me wanting more—but 4 days is just enough to fall in love with Puerto Rico’s charm, energy, and beauty.
If you’re planning a short trip, this Puerto Rico 4-day itinerary offers the perfect mix of:
- Culture (Old San Juan)
- Nature (El Yunque)
